About Us

Superkids was started by a High School Junior, Candace Lam, studying in German Swiss International School, Hong Kong in 2021. The idea stemmed from the desire to help cancer diagnosed children during this challenging time by donating funds for toys etc. to make their hospital lives brighter. Taking inspiration from that, Candace started Superkids from her own living room. Candace has always had a longing to help terminally ill children, as she worked with charities, such as Playright, as a young girl.

"When I was younger, I often found myself in the hospital or at the doctor’s clinic. With constant health issues, the clinics became a familiar environment. .Around the age of 8 or 9, I began working closely with another charity that focused on the idea of play for children, especially young cancer patients. Through various volunteer events, I gained more and more insight on how these cancer children’s lives have been affected.  They miss out on so many fundamental aspects of childhood. Some of my fondest memories from my childhood involve me dressing up. I was able to assume another identity, become a superhero for a day." - Candace 

 

This charity focuses on gifting the feelings of power and happiness to other children, and give back to the brave young cancer patients to liven and brighten their day to day life.
